Urth UV, Circular Polarizing (CPL), ND2-400 Lens Filter Kit

The Explorer Filter Kit

Minimalist outdoor essentials

Our Explorer Filter Kit includes a UV, CPL and Variable ND2-400 so you have a minimalist kit of essential creative tools to elevate your outdoor photography.

Our Ultraviolet Filter cuts UV light to sharpen your photos and protect your lens against scratches, water, dirt, and fingerprints. Our CPL Polarizing Filter cuts reflected (polarized) light, which increases contrast and boosts colour saturation and vibrancy.

Our ND2–400 Variable ND Filter provides 1 to 8.66 f-stops of light reduction, giving you greater creative control in changing light outdoors. Slow your shutter for long exposure and motion blur effects, or open your aperture for depth of field effects. Cinematographers can use it to achieve more cinematic effects too.

For wide-angle lenses, we recommend our Variable ND2-32, ND8-128, ND64-1000 or fixed ND filters.

How to use

1/6
Find your filter size

Inquisitively search lens for diameter symbol. often marks the spot. The diameter you seek may be accompanied by a number 58 or 58mm. Look to the side and the front this precious number is your filter size. Be warned: your lens focal length (e.g. 18-55mm) is not your filter size.

2/6
Place flat screw clockwise

Gently behold lens in one hand and place flat on lens. Slowly screw clockwise until just firm. Do not over-tighten that which goes on must one day come off.

3/6
UV Shoot as usual

Our UV Filter doesnt affect exposure settings so you can boldly shoot wherever your heart desires knowing your photos will be sharper and your lens will be protected against the elements.

4/6
CPL Twist it until you see it

Tenderly rotate the outer rim of your CPL Filter and watch as the level of polarization and colour vibrancy changes.

5/6
ND2400 Slower shutters, wider apertures

To compensate for the 1 to 8.66 f-stop darkening of your image, slow your shutter speed for motion blur effects. Or, you can adjust for the darkening by opening up your aperture, which creates a shallower depth of field. You can also combine both exposure setting adjustments.

6/6
ND2400 Get more cinematic

Use our ND2400 to create more cinematic effects when filming. By blocking 1 to 8.66 f-stops of light, you can open your aperture for a shallower depth of field, creating stunning cinematic effects in different and changing light conditions.
