Panorama Shooting Mode

The new Panorama Shooting Mode* makes it easy to create impressive panoramic photos. This mode captures and combines max 3 consecutive shots, that are saved to the memory card as a single panoramic picture.

• * Use a tripod or monopod for best results. Only the panoramic picture is saved; individual photos are not. Exposure and white balance are set with the first picture and flash is suppressed. Number of recorded pixels are limited to 3 megapixels.

 

New SR AUTO & Face Detection

Equipped with the newly evolved SR Auto (Scene Recognition Auto) and Face Detection, scenes and faces can be captured and optimized even more with the detection functions.

Scene Recognition Auto Knows What's Best

Framed scenes are automatically detected and selected into 6 appropriate camera settings: Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait, Backlit Portrait.

Portrait

Recognizes portraits by detecting the faces quickly in the frame and optimizing the focus, brightness and white balance.

Landscape

Scenic shots such as mountains and buildings are automatically recognized. Colors of the sky, forests, flower fields are captured in vivid colors and depth.

Night

For low-light and nighttime scenarios, shutter speed and sensitivity are automatically adjusted, producing blur-free pictures with minimal noise.

Macro

Macro mode sets the focusing position of the details of small flowers or tiny subjects accurately.

Night Portrait

When photographing people at night or in low light, SR Auto optimizes flash range, shutter speed, and exposure of the portraits, while capturing smooth and noiseless background.

Backlit Portrait

Optimizes brightness of the faces that usually end up in shadow and underexposure caused by the light behind.

Face Detection

Face Detection instantly identifies the faces in the frame, and automatically optimizes focus and exposure up to 6 faces at a time.

Red-Eye Removal

Red-Eye Removal automatically detects faces and corrects flash reflected red-eye for a perfect end result.

Zoom Up

Press the Face Detection button to zoom into each of the detected faces in a photo during playback.

Trimming

 

Zooms in on a detected face, then crops and saves a “portrait” shot in the camera.

High Sensitivity + CCD Shift Image Stabilization

The combination of high sensitivity and CCD shift image stabilization works to eliminate blurred photos by freezing action and minimizing blurs at maximum zoom range.

High Sensitivity (max. ISO6400)

Maximum sensitivity of ISO6400* lets you take natural, lifelike photos, even with limited available light. And high sensitivity also lets you stop the action, even when the subject is moving at high speeds.

• * At ISO3200 and 6400, number of recorded pixels is limited to a maximum 3 megapixels. At full resolution (10 megapixels), sensitivity is limited to a maximum ISO1600.

Continuous Shooting Mode

A high-speed continuous shooting function that captures up to 13.5 frames per second in a burst, effective for any photographer to capture fast moving subjects.
